S.Bayar meets with Chinese leaders and encourages Mongolian sportsmen

Prime Minister S.Bayar visited Beijing on the 23rd of August to hold meetings with Chinese state leaders and attend the XXIX Summer Olympic closing ceremony. He held meetings with Wen Jiabao, Premier of State Council of the People’s Republic of China and Xi Jinping, Vice-Presdient of China on the 23rd and 24th of August and attended the dinner hosted by Hu Jintao, President of China respecting foreign state heads and leaders to take parts in the Olympic closing ceremony. Wen Jiabao, Xi Jinping and Hu Jintao expressed gratitude to the Government and people of Mongolia for the encouragement for Beijing 2008 Olympics and congratulated on successful participation of Mongolian sportsmen in the Olympics.

During these meetings, present state and future perspectives of bilateral cooperation and relations issues were addressed. S.Bayar brought up the issues related to accelerating projects on importing petroleum products from China, processing crude oil, which is to be imported from the third country, namely Kazakhstan, in China, getting end products, building large-scale thermal plant on the basis of Shivee Ovoo coal mine and exporting electricity and called for attention on getting results on these matters. Mongolia Enjoys Sudden Olympic Riches

Wall Street Journal writes that,

BEIJING — Mongolia came to Beijing with no gold medals in a less-than-illustrious Olympic career.Then Tuvshinbayar Naidan won the first medal in judo last week. On Sunday, bantamweight boxer Badar-Uugan Enkhbat beat Cuba’s Yankiel Leon 16-5 for the second.

With hundreds of his countrymen chanting “MON-GO-LI-A,” and cheering his every punch, Mr. Enkhbat dominated the fight. At the end, he immediately saluted the section of fans lending him support, then got down on his knees in prayer.

“I think now, in my heart, of the people who are close to me and especially the fans who came to China to cheer for me at the Olympics,” Mr. Enkhbat said. “Those things gave me the power to get the gold medal. (more…)

Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, won his Olympic Gold Medal!

Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, won his Olympic Gold Medal beating Yankiel Leon Alarcon, a Cuban boxer. It is the first ever gold medal of Mongolia in Boxing and the second gold medal of the Mongolian Olympic squad in Beijing 2008.

He grabbed gold medal from a Cuban boxer, winning by 16:5! Placing Mongolia in the 30th in medal count list of the Olympics Games!

Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, a Mongolian boxer, changed his Olympic medal color for Silver!

Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, a Mongolian boxer, who secured his Olympic Bronze in his pocket, is ambitious to win his Olympic silver from a Moldavian boxer, Gojan Veaceslav. He won 3:0 fro the first round, 6:1 for the second, 2:1 for the third, and 4:0 for the forth and totaling 15:2.

He is ready for his next bout against for Yankiel Leon Alarcon, a Cuban boxer, for gold medal. The gold medal bout is at 14.16 (Beijing/local time) 24 August 2008.

Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, a Mongolian boxer secured his Olympic Bronze

August 18, 2008: Badar-Uugan Enkhbat, a Mongolian boxer secured his Olympic Bronze after his bout with Botswana boxer Khumiso Ikgopoleng. He secured his victory by 15:2.

He will continue his fight for Silver at 19.46 (local/Beijing time), August 22 2008. If he wins, most surely, he will fight for Gold at 14.06 (local/Beijing time) August 24 2008.

Irish news on Badar-Uugan’s next rival

Enkhbat Badar-Uugan, 23, World Championship silver medalist of Mongolia, defeated his first rival Mexico’s  Oscar  Valdez yesterday. His next competitor is Ireland’s youngest male athlete John Joe Nevin.

Irish news reporter in Beijing writes that,

Classy display from Nevin continues perfect start in the ring.

Ireland’s youngest male Olympian, John Joe Nevin, believes anything is possible after surviving yesterday’s war of attrition with Algerian Abdelhalim Ourradi in the Workers’ Gymnasium.

The Mullingar 19-year-old survived the docking of two points in an angry, untidy encounter to win 9-4 in front of a boisterous Irish following. The result reverses a countback defeat Nevin suffered against the same fighter in a French training camp two months ago.

He now faces World Championship silver medallist Badar-Uugan Enkhbat of Mongolia next Friday for a place in the last eight of the bantamweight tournament. (more…)
