Parliament reviews agricultural policy

Parliament on Friday reviewed progress on implementation of the Government’s agriculture policy in the last two years. Prime Minister S.Batbold said that the Government is studying ways of repaying herders’ loans from their dues from the Human Development Fund. It is also considering the feasibility of using part of the recently agreed $500 million loan from China to buy 8,000 small tractors.

D.Oyunkhorol urged approving amendments to the law on pastureland. She wanted health services in the provinces to be improved, particularly to offer better diagnostic facilities and provide treatment or cancer, she was told the Government intends to use a loan from South Korea for this. The animal vaccination program will also be extended.
