Only Mongolia, Russia and CIS countries have Russian standard wide gauge railroads. In fact, China has a standard gauge size which is 1435 mm. Today, the cabinet has charged Minister of Economic Development N.Batbayar and Road and Transportation Minister A.Gansukh to commence the building of standard sized gauge railroads on Shiveekhuren and Gashuun-Sukhait ports. The decision is to boost the competency of Mongolian coal export. It is believed that it will also support trade between two countries. The two ports both located south of the country making it easier to import and export commodities as well as goods.

Also, TavanTolgoi to Gashuun-Sukhait road and Energy Resource LLC’s infrastructure facilities will be bought to state-property and transferred  to Erdenes MGL LLC’s control.
