Ms. Tawakkol Karman, activist and co-recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, has accepted the invitation of Honorable Luvsanvandan Bold, MP, Foreign Minister of Mongolia, to participate in the VII CD Ministerial Conference to be held in Ulaanbaatar on 27-29 April 2013.

Ms. Tawakkol Karman was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of her work in nonviolent struggle for the safety of women and for women’s rights to full participation in peacebuilding work in Yemen, becoming the first Yemeni, the first Arab woman, and the second Muslim woman to win a Nobel Prize and the youngest Nobel Peace Laureate to date at the age of 32.

Karman is a Yemeni journalist, politician and senior member of the of Al-Islah political party, and human rights activist who heads the group “Women Journalists Without Chains,” which she co-founded in 2005. Ms. Karman is a mother of three.
