President Ts.Elbegdorj’s visit to Germany began yesterday. The Mongolian President is paying official state visit at the invitation of German President Joachim Gauck.
Ts.Elbegdorj will hold bilateral talks with President Gauck, meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Norbert Lammert, the President of the Bundestag, Klaus Wowereit, Governing Mayor of Berlin and Olaf Scholz, the First Mayor of Hamburg. Ts.Elbegdorj is the first foreign President to meet with President Gauck since he took office on March 23rd.
Germany is a Mongolia’s main partner in Europe. In 2008 the two counties signed bilateral partnership agreement and in 2010 an inter-government agreement dealing with the mining, industry and technology sector was signed.
The state visit of Ts.Elbegdorj will bring the Mongolia-Germany economic cooperation to a new stage.
Minister for Foreign Affairs G.Zandanshatar, the Minister for Road, Transportation and Infrastructure Ts.Dashdorj, MP O.Chuluunbat, MP L.Bold, Deputy Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Ts.Garamjav, Senior Adviser to the President, P.Tsagaan, L.Purevsuren and various media, business, art, and culture representatives are included in the visiting delegation.
