Ts.Elbegdorj, President and Head of the National Security Council officially confirmed that the National Security Council has rejected a draft proposal to award Tavantolgoi development rights to consortiums from China, Russia, and the United States.
After discussions last week, the National Securi
ty Council decided that the draft does not meet legal requirements. The Government submitted the draft to a working group of the National Security Council on July 22. It is possible that the Government will revise the draft and resubmit it to the National Security COuncil at a later date.
Some unofficial source also states that the National Security Council did not reject the proposal but the Government’s working group wanted to review the draft again.
