The MPRP formally accepted the resignation of deputy leader Ts. Shinebayar at a meeting which was held over the weekend. Mr. Shinebayar announced his resignation two weeks ago. At the meeting, party leaders said it was time to focus of finding a new deputy.
The new deputy will be chosen by the head of the party, N. Enkhbayar. A leading contender for the position is thought be the party’s general secretary, N. Udval.
