Erdenet and MCS lead the Top 100 enterprises.

Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Mongolian Government announced its 10th annual lists for Top 100 enterprises in Mongolia. Top 100 enterprises list is normally dominated by the private enterprises and no change has been made this year.

Over 80% of GDP is produced by private enterprises and 88% of total employees are employed by private enterprises. Research shows that Mongolia’s rank in terms of competitiveness was improved and moved up 18 places and currently ranked at 99th. In addition, first national mining company entered international stock market.

Top 100 enterprises list is led by Erdenet factory and followed by MCS. In terms of private enterprises MCS is the leading company by employment, investment, tax paid and social responsibilities. MCS led the list for the last 5 years running, has paid taxes of MNT 314.4 billion and created 5700 new workplaces for the last 7 years.

It is unsurprising to see 6 mining companies listed in the top 20 enterprises but the list also included 6 petroleum companies.
