Bank of Mongolia reported that the foreign currency reserve of Mongolia reached highest ever 1.6 billion US dollars. “This means five months of import demand can be supplied by this amount” says G.Delgermaa, Director of International Economic Department of Bank of Mongolia.
Also, as of Friday 24, 2010 Mongolbank (Bank of Mongolia) has received 1.7 tonnes gold from mining entities. This is a decrease of 2.2 tonnes from same period last year. As of August this year 1.4 tonnes of gold was bought by the Central Bank which represents 33 percent of the total gold production in the country.
