P.TsagaanMr. P.Tsagaan, adviser in charge of mineral resources, energy and infrastructure policy to the President of Mongolia, is interviewed shortly after his assignment for the Board of Directors of Oyu Tolgoi LLC.

Q: Congratulations for the assignment to the Board of Directors.

P.Tsagaan: Thank you, I am grateful for those who decided to grant me such a credential. It is a huge responsibility rather than reputation. Therefore, I believe that I should utilize all my knowledge and experience for the work.

Q: What is the main responsibility of the Board Directors?

P.Tsagaan: Board members will play important role in steering the implementation of the project and distributing profit to Mongolia.

Q: Will you remain as the adviser to the President?

P.Tsagaan: I don’t know yet, it will depend on the work load.

Q: Have you met with other two member of the Board? Do you know Mr. Ganbold?

P.Tsagaan: I haven’t met yet. I just found that I was appointed. I was Minister for Finance when Mr. N.Bagabandi was the President of Mongolia. I met him many times through official issues. But, I know Mr. Ganbold very well. His intellect reached to excellence, with good knowledge of English. He was the Chairman of XacBank, which is firmly established in very short period of time. These can tell much of his background. Plus, we are working together in cultural promotion field. We initiate many works through the Art Council of Mongolia.

Editor: There will be four Mongolian nationals will be appointed for the Board of Directors, including Mr. Batsukh, former Ambassador to Canada and China, most probably will be proposed by Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia Inc.
