Meeting of standing committee on environment, food and agriculture were held yesterday. L.Gansukh, Minister for Environment and tourism and T.Badamjunai, Minister for food, agriculture and light industry reported about their expenditure in the year 2008. According to Minister L.Gansukh, the industry had saved over 400 million MNT from the distributed 6 billion 512 million MNT from the State budget whereas the Ministry of food, agriculture and light industry had a deficit. During the meeting they have pointed out that unnecessary projects were planned and implemented in the countryside.
Minister T.Badamjunai said that they will count the number of water holes in the countryside and determine its use around the area. It is more cost effective to fix and rebuild the water holes rather than creating new ones. This way we can save some of the unnecessary costs explains the Minister for food, agriculture and light industry.
