A consultative meeting between the Ministry of External Relations of Mongolia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Israel was held on September 22-23, 2008 in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting was chaired by Mr B.Odonjil, Head of Americas, Middle East and Africa Department of the Ministry of External Relations of Mongolia; and Ms. Ruth Kahanoff, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.At the meeting, the two sides assessed the current state of bilateral political and economic relations and exchanged views on the possibilities for developing cooperation in education, science, technology, agriculture, tourism, environment and culture. The Mongolian side briefed Israeli’s on the current situation of Mongolia and exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of multilateral relations as well as on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

As part of the mission, the Israeli business delegation took part in the Mongolia and Israel Business Meeting organized by the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry on September 22, 2008.

The Israeli delegation also met such Mongolian officials as Ms. J.Altantuya, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health;Mr. Batsuuri, State Secretary of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture; and Mr. D.Tsogtbaatar, State Secretary of the Ministry of External Relations.
