During the meeting, Mr Ch.Perenlei, head of the strategy and policy making department, reported about the current situation of harvesting. He reported that this year, Mongolia will harvest 200 thousand tons of grain. It will provide 49% of total supply of wheat, 100% of potato, 50% of other vegetables. It was the result of good weather, machinery, grain and soft loan. It is possible to harvest 1.3 tons of grain from each hectare. It reached the level of early 90s. As for today, only 15% of total harvesting work is completed. Also the potato and other vegetable harvesting is around 30%. The harvesting work is comparatively slower this year. The maturity is uneven, therefore, classified harversting is required. New Minister commented said that only 15% of harvest is so low. Only 15 days left for the end of harvest season.

Regardless of “Atar III campaign”, it is shameful to loose yield without harvest. The new minister focuses on accelerating the harvest issue. He will probably visit agricultural areas today.
