X Shift to Iraq is to Perform 2-month Duties

Written on June 5, 2008 – 2:43 pm | by info |

Mongolian troops take parts in “Iraqi freedom” peace-keeping activity since 2002 till today. About 1000 Mongolian troops contributed to reconstruction and recovery of the hot spot of Iraqi. The condition is not amiable and unfavorable, there are conflicts and attacks almost everyday near the Eco base in Ed Divania. However, Mongolian troops performed successfully. At this time when many countries draw back their troops from Iraq, Mongolian national Security Council and the Government of Mongolia made a decision to send X shift of troops to Iraq. Mongolian troops used to perform duties there for 6 months but this time they’ll perform guard duties for two months in peace-keeping activities.
Also sending of VI shift troops to Sierra Leone, Africa was supported. Mongolian troops in Africa guard UN Special Court and this activity is to end in 2009. The current shift period is to end on June 25 and next shift troops are leaving for preparation soon.
