In spite of the fact, that the Buyer of the helicopter is Ministry of Defense of Mongolia, the helicopter will be used for different civil missions conducting. First of all for search and rescue missions execution as well as medical works and cargoes transportation conducting. For such purposes the delivered helicopter is equipped with two rescue winches of 150 and 300 kgs cargo capacity, set of sanitary equipment with possibility to transport on the stretches of up to 12 injured persons, star-board sliding door, electrohydraulic ramp with hatch, external sling system and other equipment.

It is interesting, that for making ease of pilots work with bevy of avionics in the cockpit it was installed one integrated instrument panel, but not two as in standard build-up. Such scheme of instruments installation was used on the Mi-171 helicopter for the first time.
Not long before delivery the Mi-171 helicopter of the Ministry of Defense of Mongolia was demonstrated on the static area during the VI International Conference of the Mi-8/Mi-171 helicopters operators. By virtue of wide range of flight and navigation equipment and new scheme of instrument panels installation the Mongolian helicopter had great interest of the conference participants.
It should be noted that, co-operation UUAP with Mongolia has rather quick development. At the end of 2007 year the plant made training of big group of flight and technical specialists from Mongolia. Then the Mi-171 helicopter was delivered to MAC (Mongolian Air Company). On February, 2008 year Department of Civil Aviation of Mongolia issued Type Acceptance Certificate for the Mi-171 helicopter.
