With reference to arose conditions, MPRP and DP formed a task group. The task group held a meeting yesterday for the second time. At the first meeting, the two parties exchanged views and at the following meeting the two reached on consensus on particular issues. MPRP and DP agreed that the Constitution must be modified. However DP admits that modifications made in 2000 should be nullified but MPRP do not agree with it and says to amend the Constitution directly. They agree that Law on Administrative units and their management, law on Parliament and local elections and Law on Political parties should be amended at the modification of the Constitution as well. Also they defined legislations and decrees to be ratified by the new Parliament. Minerals Law, Law on Grant of the Motherland and Law on Treasure Share will be passed and Sub-committee of Election and registration will be established under State organization standing Committee.
In addition, long term program on reducing inflation shall be developed. In general, the task group sums that the meeting was more efficient than of previous one. However, they didn’t agree on accepting election results. MPRP considers that 66 members should take oaths, accepting the current results, submitted to the President by the General Election Commission but DP disagrees because they consider that decision of the 10th of July was legal. According to that decision of the GEC results of 21 circuits were to be confirmed and submitted to the President. In this case, MPRP would have 36 mandates and could not be a majority. If GEC fails to submit the results to the President within 15 days, other authorized organizations have to decide over other circuit results according to legislations. Today task groups of two parties are going to meet to reach on a comprehensive solution over this issue.
