PM is To Visit Not Only Russia but Also China
S.Oyun, Minister of Foreign Affairs has just arrived the country finishing her official visit to China. In framework of the visit, China reacted positively towards the issues related to appointing Honorary Consuls in Zhenjiang, Uyghur and Macau as well as consulate representative of Mongolia in Shanghai. The Minister notes that this is because our citizens increasingly travel, study and work overseas, namely in China. During the visit of the Foreign Affairs Minister to Inner Mongolia, scholarships provided to 100 students are to be provided to 500 students. In the course of her official visit to China, S.Oyun visited the Deputy Chairman of China, members of Chinese State Council, negotiated with Chinese Foreign Affairs Minister and visited Chinese Diplomats Academy. Talks and negotiations during the visit are dedicated to preparation for the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and 15th anniversary of amiable cooperation agreements. During negotiations, issues related to Chinese investment to Mongolian infrastructure have been addressed. Since Egyn hydro power plant is not constructed, Mongolia proposed to use USD 300 million soft loans for useful sectors including road, communication and construction and China is to see this issue back. Also, they discussed matters on increasing the number of Ulaanbaatar-Beijing trains per week and extending and strengthening border inspection and passing activities. An invitation of the Chinese president to State Head of Mongolia to attend the East Asian Forum, to be held between 11 and 13 April, 2008 in Beijing has been forwarded via the Foreign Affairs Minister. The President of Mongolia is to meet Chinese and other countries’ state officials. Also it is being discussed that the Prime Minister is to visit China in coming month. Visit of the Parliament Speaker is pending this year, too. Prime Minister of China is to visit Mongolia next year on occasion of the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and 15th anniversary of amiable cooperation agreements. Foreign Affairs Minister S.Oyun has just informed the visit was successful, arriving from the visit to China.
