Human Traffickers were Arrested

Last year, over 1000 Mongolian women were sold in Malaysia and Macau.

On February 22 2008, officers from the General Authority for Intelligence arrested gang members who traffic the Mongolian women to abroad. G.Batdelger and G.Ganzorig, citizens of Mongolia, were busted on the act to traffic six women, between 18-23, in Ulaanbaatar and Zamiin Uud simultaneously. They admitted that they traffic women to Erlian and then sell to Macao, Hong Kong and Malaysia. Also they admitted that they trafficked over 30 women before. The case will be submitted to the State Investigation Authority, according to the regulation and the criminals were detained.

One of six women said that “Gang members offered them high-paid work and agreed to get the payment after getting their job”. Criminals closely studied their victim. In most cases, they select their victim from poor families with fewer relatives who cannot afford to pay attention after the victim. The victims usually were attracted with ads such as “Offering high paid jobs”. There are over 1000 women, who sold to Macao and Malaysia, through such a way.

Women are sold in Malaysia between 500-5000 USD. According to the victim, their possessions including passport and travel documents are confiscated by the gang members and they are forced to use drug and get cosmetic surgeon. Also the victims were carefully categorized according to their beauty and sold further.

Detectives say that such criminal acts are conducted through well organized way. This case was also connected with the mafia connection operates internationally. For example, so called Michael receives the women in Macao, the special region. He is connected with G.Batdelger and G.Ganzorig and helps them to sell further. In other countries, there are many Michael like mediators. Also, some higher ranking officials of immigration authority of some countries are connected with such human trafficking.
