Every year with some surprises. H1N1 was not the main concern even it limited the accessibility of media to the event venue. Therefore, media coverage is very limited for the event, which somehow, grasped the availability and media coverage of the main agenda of the forum.
Last year the main concern was OT IA. Once it has been cleared, today nuclear energy law is under concern of many investors. Mongolia is partnering with Russia, France and Japan in the uranium field. Mongolia also signed a cooperation agreement with India. However, it can be seen that OT IA signature revives investors hope and interest in Mongolian mining sector.
The forum was opened by the speech of MP D.Zorigt, the Minister for Mineral Resources and Energy. The main panels were presentation of Oyu Tolgoi project, cooperation between Mongolia and North America, vision and mission of South Gobi and Energy Resources LLC.
As usual, today’s Government Hour round table meeting is the most attractive part of the event and many investors are expecting this part with higher expectation. During the Government Hour, investors will have a chance to deliver their comments and findings to the Government officials.
