MPRP had supported the current president N.Enkhbayar to be a candidate for this Presidential election. N.Enkhbayar had successfully collected all 175 votes from the members of the MPRP to be a candidate. S.Bayar, Chairman of the MPRP said that they have spoken to 8 possible candidates from the MPRP and named N.Enkhbayar, former candidate in 2005.
Dem Party also held a meeting with their National Consulting Committee earlier yesterday. G.Batkhuu had pulled his name out and 224 members of the National Consulting Committee have voted for Ts.Elbegdorj and E.Bat-uul. Ts.Elbegdorj had won the election taking 65.3% of all the votes. Ts.Elbegdorj will formally be a candidate and the decision will be ratified later.
The Civil Will Party had decided to support the Ts.Elbegdorj and the Dem Party for this Presidential election but the Green Party had said they will act on this matter based on the decisions made from the Dem Party and the Civil Will Party. The decision of the Green Party is left unclear for the public.
