MPs are in trouble with understanding feasibility study of OT project. Project implementation side started its translation recently, but it might take 3 months at minimum. Therefore, they have to rely on their English in understanding the feasibility study.
Some sources say that after detailed discussion of the Standing Committee on Economy, it reached the final decision to discuss the draft agreement by the State Great Khural, which was just two hours before the closing of the irregular session of the State Great Khural.
But MPs are so cautious about the their speech and disclosures. Therefore, they preferred to deny such hearsay. Here some comments of MPs towards this issue:
MP D.Odkhuu: Working group is working instead of discussing.
Q: Standing Committee on Economy rejected the draft agreement on OT. It made this decision based on after close study of the feasibility study.
A: Not exactly, it is the matter of the interest of Mongolia. We decided not to reveal much detail to public because of the vulnerability of the issue. Therefore, members of the working group collected related materials and working on to develop the project.
Q: Is it true that English draft agreement on investment creates difficulties in translating the feasibility study?
A: Many Mongolians understand English. As for MPs, English is not that big trouble. The biggest concern is that we need to adopt the investment agreement that is suitable for all Mongolians, 2.6 million people. After that everything will be much clear and bright.
