MPRP group at the State Great Khural held a meeting and discussed several issues. It was clarified by MP D.Lundeejantsan.

Q: What issues were discussed by the group meeting?

MP D.Lundeejantsan: The issue of State Policy on herders was supported by the general session of the Khural. Therefore, we organized a working group in relation with the issue. Also we heard the report of the working group and MPs agreed to adopt it through the State Great Khural.
Also, draft law on competition was discussed. The working was established and MP O.Chuluunbat was appointed as the head of the working group. Moreover, draft amendment in the Mineral Law of Mongolia, banning exploration work of mineral in the area of water and forest reserve was taken into the discussion.

Q: The Standing Committee on Economy will discuss the issue of draft investment agreement on Oyu Tolgoi in this week. What is the position of the group?

MP D.Lundeejantsan: I think the working group should combine the comments of two party groups and present to the Government.

Q: Some MPs think that it is correct to amend the Mineral Law first and discuss the investment agreement. How about MPRP group?

MP D.Lundeejantsan: Anyhow, it is correct that the standing Committee should disucss the draft and present its comments to the Government. If the Mineral Law amendment issue is considered during this procedure, we have position to discuss that. The main thing is that we are closely watching the working group’s decision. For example, it is still in debate that this agreement is international or investment one. Therefore, the Standing Committee will decide in which procedure this agreement should follow.
