The first meeting of Mongolian – German working group on cooperation of mineral sector was held on June 8, 2009, at the Ministry of Economy and Technology of Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin.
The meeting was led by Mr. Sneider, the head of the department of Mining and heavy industry and Mr. B.Batkhuu, head of department of heavy industry policy of the Ministry of Mineral Resource and Energy. Working group consists of many institutions and organizations from both countries; Ministries, professional institutions, Mining Association of Mongolia, Mongolian Coal Association, Erdenes MGL LLC, Darkhajn Mettalurgy Factory, MongolRosTsvetmet LLC, Baganuur JSC, Mongolian Alt Corporation, Beren Group of Mongolia, Sharyn Gol Energy LLC, Lithoum Mining LLC.
During the meeting, Memorandum of Understanding on supporting mining and mineral sector cooperation between Mongolian Government and German Government, was signed.
Upon the signature of MOU, the general principles of cooperation in mining and mineral sector between two countries. Hence, both sides conclude that the cooperation on economy between two countries enters into a new phase.
