France names Mongolia as its third neighbor

Prime Minister S.Bayar met with the French officials and exchanged opinions on cooperation issues between Mongolia and France.

Mining industry is the key industry in the Mongolian economy. Therefore, Mongolia is interested in sharing French experience and know-how in implementing developing legal environment and environmentally friendly mining technology on this important field.

French National Assembly has 577 members and 78 of them are belonging to the Mongolia French parliamentary group. They played important role in establishing permanently operating mission, French cultural center in Ulaanbaatar. Chairman of the French National Assembly President Bernard Accoyer said that “Mongolia is considered as the third neighbor of France. We believe that Mongolia is our friend“

Prime Minister S.Bayar urges the importance of French investment in Mongolia and calls French companies to follow the example of French companies, which already made investment in Mongolia, such as uranium exploitation mega company “Areva” and coal extracting company “Axence”.

He also mentioned the importance of developing eliminating air pollution, acquiring technology of drying brown coal and introducing biotechnology.

Prime Minister also invited Speaker of Senate Gerard L’Arche and President of National Assembly Bernard Accoyer to pay visit to Mongolia according to their preference.

S.Bayar also met with the Mrs. Anne Lauvergeon, the Chairman of the Executive Board of Areva Group. She expressed that Areva is satisfied its achievements in the past and expressed its interest of jointly-building uranium development factory in Mongolia. Mrs. Anne Lauvergeon supports the request of Prime Minister S.Bayar in paying attention of training and educating the Mongolian experts and professionals in uranium industry.
