We got details from G.Chimeddorj, Head of Energy Regulations Department, Ministry of Fuel and Energy on the construction of the fifth energy source in the Capital city.
At what stage is the construction of the fifth energy source?
It is very essential to build the 5th energy source in Ulaanbaatar. Our Ministry announced the international bids for technological and construction drafts and company on the 30th of July. The selection shall be held on October 11.
Where will it be built?
Thermal plants in Ulaanbaatar are concentrated on the right side. Therefore we plan to build the plant on the left. Talking with the Capital city Administration, we chose the area near Uliastay.
Where will the funds be raised and what will the capacity of the plant be?
It will be built with foreign investments because the agreement with the winner of the bids shall be concluded on conditions that the company shall build the plant with its funds and return the assets by providing energy to the public. This plant must be environment-friendly, has no opposite affects such as contributing to air pollutions, employing to-date technology and equipment and having a capacity of 300 MB.
