Project of USD 285 Million Is Urged
The U.S. Millennium Challenge Account has signed on an agreement to grant aid of USD 285 million to Mongolia. A total 4 projects are to be implemented with this money in health, education, registration and railways sectors. With reference to it, Mr. Robert Reed, Mongolia Country Director, MCA visited Mongolia between 7 and 14 of this month to start preparation for realization of compact agreement, concluded between USA and Mongolia. He met with Mr. Mark Minton, Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the United States to Mongolia and the U.S. Embassy staff. A progress of creating sedentary position of MCA in the Embassy structure has been started.
Mr. Robert Reed visited Mr. N.Enkhbold, Chief of cabinet Secretariat and expressed gratitude for withdrawing National Council for Mongolian MCA and forming MCA newly that is in charge of realizing grant aid projects. Country Director recommended holding Management Board Meeting of Mongolian MCA immediately and appointing 12 primary staff in charge of coordinating and controlling the projects at once. Also he met the Ministers of Health, Education, Culture and Science, Construction and Urban development, Road, Transport and Tourism that are involved in the Management Board. The shared views and discussed on projects to be implemented in framework of the agreement on health, education, registration and railways. Mr. Robert Reed is coming back to Mongolia at the end of April, residing in Mongolia for the contracted 5 years.
