P.Ochirbat: It Is Not the Grant, But the Misfortune
Is it right thing when people are talking about “Grant of the Nation or Grant of the Treasure”, in relationship with the natural resource?
There is no such experience and practice to distribute cash to the people under the “fancy” name, in the world. This profit shall be reserved for the State. But this fund must be increased, such as building industrial park and strengthen our capital.
From other hand, there is a way to invest in foreign countries or save in foreign banks. On the other hand, the profit from mining industry shall be invested in building infrastructure for the favour of building factories and developing industry. There are only two ways to keep and inherit the natural resource to the next generation; to save without exploiting or mine and sell when commodity price is high and inherit its investment or money.
But distribute 50.000 MNT to everyone is nonsense. It is just a silly idea to rally people and temporary thing. In greater sense, this “grant” is misfortune. Do we want to inherit Mongolia with no mineral, no industry, no forest or environment? People of Mongolia don’t need such a “grant”.
