Russian investment has shown small growth in Mongolia. Last year, the Russians invested only 2 million in Mongolia. There are 425 Russian invested companies in Mongolia and 51 of them are mining companies, 34 food and beverage, 55 construction and construction material, 106 light industry, 40 energy, 21 transportation and 12 tourism operators.
Larger players such as “Base Element”, “Rusal”, “Renova”, “Severstal”, “Polymetal”, “Gazprombank”, “RJD”, are interested in various projects of Mongolia including, Tavan Tolgoi, Ulaan-Ovoo, Ulaanbaatar Railway. If this will become real, investment size will boost.
