Yesterday, D.Demberel, Speaker of the Parliament received a delegation headed by Steven Barnett, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief to Mongolia. Mr.Barnett told the Speaker that an IMF’s implementation course will continue in Mongolia until September 2010. He stated that the program will provide further opportunities for Mongolian economy and also warned Mongolia to keep the budgetary deficit within the planned size. The group’s head also stated that situation for Mongolia may become harder from the year 2011 due to abolishment of the law on windfall profit tax.
D.Demberel, the Speaker said that Mongolia’s Parliament and the Government will take all measures to reduce the budget deficit and he also expressed his willingness to continue cooperating with the IMF and the World Bank in the future.
