Nationwide, 90% of total harvesting completed.

The Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry gave nitoce to the farmers to finish their harvest by yesterday. Due to ripening condition, harvesting speed decreased and as for yesterday, 90% of total harvesting completed. For example, Darkhan Uul and Selenge aimag’s farmers have to harvest over 10 thousand tons of grain.

Khuvsgul aimag completed its harvesting

Two weeks ago the harvesting was under 60%. But some aimags completed its harvesting. Khuvsgul aimag completed its harvesting and 7935.4 tons of grain was harvested from 6704 hectare plantation. This year, weather was in favor for the farmers, but some soums are too late for its harvesting and lost some of its harvest under snow. As for today, 1036.7 tons of potato, 13.7 tons of vegetable were harvested and 108.1 thousand tons of grass for livestock was prepared.

Forestry work was intensively carried out in Tuv aimag. Forestry farms were established in Bayantsogt, Bornuur, Bayanchandmani, Erdene, Tseel, Delgerkhaan, Mungunmorit and Sumber soums and six companies planted over 4 million trees. In other word, total forested area reaches 1792 hectare. Also Zuunmod and Tseel soums created fruit farms and 1.5 hectare area was planted for raspberry and blueberry in Zuunmod and 4 hectares for fruit in Tseel soum.

Gobi residents are started to relieve from the shortage of water

The most critical issue in Dornogobi aimag is drinking water for people and livestock. The center of the aimag is supplying its drinking water from 10 km distance. Also there is no water or well in the areas where has good pasture. But this year, within the framework of strengthening water supply, 35 wells were built in 13 soums, funded by the state budget. Also 18 well were planned to be repaired and 14 of them were completed. The owners of the local authority received their wells. Hence, Gobi residents are relieved from water shortage.

81,5% of total harvesting completed

As for today, 81,5% of grain harvest is completed and 93,5-,96,1% of total potato plantation is harvested. Most of aimags completed its harvesting work, but there is 99,4 thousand tons of grain is waiting for its buyers for milling, lying at the open yard of the farmers. According to the weather forecast, weather will be clear and good, but granary issue is the most vital at the moment.

Mongolian Government is to give away 30.5 billion MNT for goat subsidy

Wasteful budget policy is not yet to end. Subsidy money for children and people has changed its subject and targeted goat this year. Government of Mongolia is to give away 5000 MNT per kilo cashmere, if goat was included in the counting of this year. So basically 3 goats will share 5000 MNT. The Mongolia Development Fund will devote 30.5 billion MNT for goat. (more…)

Farmers of Arkhangai province finished its harvest.

According to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry reports, the harvest in Mongolia is only 60%. 14 aimags carried out plantation in year 2008 and only 8 of them completed their harvesting. More precisely, Arkhaingai aimag harvested from 1960 hectare land of plantation. Also it planted vegetable in around 800 hectares of land. “Hasu Mandal” and “Bag Khangai” companies are leading in their harvesting, i.e. farmers of“Baga Khangai” Company harvested 1,2 ton of wheat from  each hectare and “Hasu Mandal” is 15 tons respectively. 55% of Harvesting work is completed

55% of the harvesting work in Mongolia has completed, according to the report to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry. More precisely, 113 thousand tons of grain was harvested and over 90% of the total vegetable plantation. Really short time is left for the harvest. Because, weather is getting worse and cold from October 7th. 8 of 14 aimags completed their harvest. Mostly Darkhan-Uul, Orkhon and Khentii aimags are lagging in their harvesting.

Shall each goat will be compensated?

Today the State Great Khural will discuss about the compensation for goat. Cashmere price is decreased and it will affect living of herders. Therefore, the State Great Khural the resolution to buy with 30-32 thousand MNT for 1 kilo cashmere, was adopted in May 2008. The cashmere buying 10 billion Fund is allocated at the Trade and Development Bank of Mongolia. Unfortunately, no companies wanted to buy cashmere over 30 thousand MNT and this plan was stopped.
